Over 3,000 Alberta mail-in referendum ballots flagged for errors
Elections Alberta reports that more than 3,000 mailed ballots for the upcoming referendum contain mistakes that render them invalid, but voters can still correct them by email.
With the provincial referendum less than two weeks away, Elections Alberta has identified over 3,000 mail-in ballot packages with missing declaration forms, identification problems, or other errors. The agency says about a third of the roughly 652,000 mailed packages have been verified so far. Extra staff are being hired, and more than two-thirds of the needed 60,000 workers are already on board. Voters whose ballots were rejected can submit the correct information electronically before the voting deadline.
