Over 4,000 foreign investors launch firms in Istanbul, pledging billions in capital

In the first half of 2026, 4,072 overseas investors set up companies in Istanbul, committing 58.8 billion Turkish Liras in capital.

Istanbul saw 4,072 foreign investors establish new firms during the first six months of 2026, with a total pledged capital of 58.8 billion Turkish Liras. Retail attracted the most investors, accounting for about 26% of the total, while information technology secured the largest share of capital at roughly 35%. U.S. investors led in capital commitment, followed by Germany and the United Arab Emirates. The districts of Fatih, Şişli and Esenyurt hosted the highest number of investors, whereas Şişli, Bağcılar and Tuzla recorded the greatest capital inflows.
