Overloaded ferry capsizes on Lake Kariba, at least 15 dead and 27 missing

A ferry overloaded beyond its 90-person limit capsized on Zimbabwe's Lake Kariba, resulting in at least 15 deaths and 27 people reported missing. The national disaster management agency said 77 individuals were rescued and taken to an island on the lake. Ticket sales confirm 114 adult passengers and five crew members were on board, though the exact number of children aboard remains unknown.

Rescue operations, coordinated by police, included speedboats and a helicopter surveying the overturned vessel.
