Oxford lecturer Lola Salem charged with possession of indecent child images

Dr Lola Salem, a lecturer at Oriel College, Oxford, has pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing indecent child photographs. She will appear again in court in December.

Dr Lola Salem, a 33-year-old lecturer at Oriel College, Oxford, is on trial for alleged possession of indecent child photographs. Prosecutors allege she possessed three category B images and one category C image between 2021 and early 2023. After the college became aware of the charges in June, Salem was suspended from her teaching duties.

The University of Oxford confirmed she serves as a tutor rather than a university employee and has been teaching music at Oriel since October 2022. Salem, who resides in Kensington and Chelsea, entered not-guilty pleas to both counts on July 23. She is due back in Oxford Crown Court on December 7 for a further hearing.
