Oxford-trained pediatrician behind controversial 'Palestine poppy' also authors books endorsing harsh Islamic punishments
Abdul Qader Ismail, an Oxford-educated pediatrician, sold a Palestinian-flag poppy pin and has authored teen books that justify stoning and label homosexuality as a divine test.
The creator of the ‘Palestine poppy’ pin, Abdul Qader Ismail, is a pediatrician who studied at the University of Oxford and now works in the UK with a focus on perinatal medicine. He listed the poppy-shaped enamel pin, coloured in the Palestinian flag, on eBay for £1.78, stating that sales would support Gaza charities and that the item was not for profit. Ismail is an active member of Greens for Palestine and co-sponsored their ‘Zionism is Racism’ stance.
He has written a multi-volume series titled An Introduction to Challenging Topics for Muslim Teens, which includes chapters that describe stoning, whipping, crucifixion and amputation as deterrents and blessings, and frames same-sex attraction as a test from Allah that must not be acted upon. The books also argue that female genital mutilation is allowed under traditional Islamic interpretations and advise transgender-feeling youths to pray for help and refrain from acting on those feelings. In a Greens for Palestine WhatsApp group, Ismail labeled fellow activist Zack Polanski a genocide denier and warned that Zionism is in its dying stages.
