PAC flags RM314 million missing from MyEG and Zetrix AI revenue remittances

The Public Accounts Committee said My E.G. Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd failed to remit RM314 million collected for the government between May and September, raising governance concerns.

The Public Accounts Committee warned that My E.G. Sdn Bhd and its affiliate Zetrix AI Bhd, which handle state revenue collection, failed to remit RM314 million collected between 19 May and 30 Sept. PAC chair Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the issue goes beyond unpaid arrears, asking how such a sum could accumulate without payment and what oversight mechanisms existed. She noted 35 reminder notices and four engagement sessions were issued, yet the shortfall persisted.

Malaysia Corruption Watch president Jais Abdul Karim said the four-month period underscores weak controls, citing a RM231 million cheque that the bank did not process on the company’s instruction. MCW supports suspending both firms and demands a transparent review of settlement timelines, bank arrangements, guarantees and enforcement triggers to prevent recurrence. The committee indicated it will not add a new proceeding but the matter will remain under public scrutiny.
