Pakistan and Azerbaijan pledge deeper economic cooperation within strategic partnership

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed their countries' strategic partnership and agreed to expand economic and investment ties.

In a telephone conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan's deep-rooted, fraternal and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, emphasizing mutual trust on core national issues. President Ilham Aliyev responded positively, agreeing to provide expertise to broaden the Asaan Khidmat Centre model across Pakistan, a service inspired by Azerbaijan's ASAN Khidmet system. The leaders reviewed recent bilateral initiatives, expressed satisfaction with growing cooperation, and discussed the evolving regional and international landscape.

They pledged ongoing consultations on matters of shared interest and highlighted Pakistan's diplomatic outreach for regional peace and de-escalation. The dialogue concluded with a mutual commitment to turn political goodwill into a lasting, mutually beneficial economic partnership.
