Pakistan joins Saudi-Turkish defence pact talks in Riyadh on Monday
Pakistan's senior officials will attend a Makkah Joint Defence Agreement meeting in Riyadh on Monday, focusing on regional developments and cooperation.
A meeting of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement is set for Monday in Riyadh, concentrating on recent regional dynamics and the continuation of joint security efforts. Pakistan will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Attendees also comprise the foreign and defence ministers and chief of staff officials from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Türkiye.
The agenda includes a review of the latest developments in the region and an assessment of cooperation under the Makkah framework. The Foreign Office noted that Pakistan’s participation underscores its commitment to regional peace and stability. Prior to the meeting, Dar visited Madina, paid respects at the Prophet’s Mosque, and then proceeded to Riyadh alongside his colleagues.
