Pakistan mandates Nadra-linked vaccination proof for all outbound travel starting Sept 14
From September 14, anyone leaving Pakistan must present a vaccination certificate tied to the National Database and Registration Authority, according to a Border Health Services notice.
A notice from Border Health Services-Pakistan, dated September 7, states that beginning September 14 no passenger will be allowed to depart the country without a vaccination certificate linked to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra). The rule applies to all outbound travelers, including those on Umrah and Hajj trips, and mandates pre-departure immunizations against polio, meningitis, yellow fever and influenza.
The health minister has designated the federal Government Civil Dispensary as the exclusive centre for vaccinating pilgrims, and airlines must ensure travel agents understand that only a digital, Nadra-connected vaccine card will be valid. Airport vaccination stations are to be set up shortly, with a six-hour pre-flight arrival advised for those needing shots, and payment will be processed through Nadra’s e-Sahulat platform.
Pakistan International Airlines has already issued a travel advisory echoing the new requirement. The measure follows earlier steps to tighten health surveillance at entry points to curb diseases such as Nipah virus.
