Pakistan Navy intercepts two dhows, seizes $96 million worth of drugs in Arabian Sea
The Pakistan Navy captured two dhows in the Arabian Sea, confiscating about 850 kg of ice and 2,000 kg of hashish valued at roughly $96 million.
The Pakistan Navy announced that its vessel Yarmook conducted two counter-narcotics missions far from the national shoreline, resulting in the interception of two dhows. Inside hidden compartments, officers found about 850 kg of ice and 2,000 kg of hashish, drugs valued at roughly $96 million. The haul will be transferred to the appropriate authorities for legal action and destruction.
In a statement, President Asif Ali Zardari commended the navy’s vigilance and its contribution to regional maritime security. The operation follows previous large seizures, including a $750 million haul last month and a $215 million seizure near Gwadar in June. These actions underscore the navy’s ongoing commitment to combat illicit trafficking at sea.
