Pakistan's strategic commander warns adversaries of overwhelming retaliation

Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, head of Pakistan's National Strategic Command, cautioned that any misstep by hostile neighbours will trigger a response far beyond their expectations.

In a televised address, Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, commander of Pakistan’s National Strategic Command, warned that any miscalculation by hostile forces will be met with a response beyond the initiator’s imagination. He reiterated the military’s commitment to protect every inch of the country, even at great cost. The warning came after Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent threat of a larger strike in response to cross-border terrorist activity.

Raza accused Pakistan’s adversaries of employing calculated disinformation and narrative warfare to fracture the nation’s social fabric, especially after the unsuccessful Operation Sindoor. He said these actors continue to exploit internal weaknesses to create proxy instruments against Pakistan’s unity. The commander stressed that the conflict directly targets the security and freedoms secured by past sacrifices. Further statements are expected.

Why it matters

The warning signals heightened military tension between Pakistan and India, raising regional security concerns.
