Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir and Chief of Army Staff discussed defence technology trends and possible cooperation with US-based POWERUS.
Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the Chief of Army Staff met with a delegation from US defence and critical-infrastructure firm POWERUS, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations. Led by Robert Bret Velicovich, the POWERUS team discussed the latest trends in defence technology and identified potential areas for joint procurement, manufacturing and capacity building.
Munir highlighted the importance of cutting-edge solutions for strengthening the country’s security and resilience. Both sides indicated a desire to deepen engagement on mutual interests. The meeting comes after US and Pakistani soldiers completed joint training at the National Counter-Terrorism Center during Exercise Inspired Gambit, and after the United States approved a $686 million sale of advanced technology and upgrade packages for Pakistan’s F-16 fleet.
