Pakistan validates extended-range Fatah-IV cruise missile in successful test

Pakistan's military announced a successful launch of an upgraded Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile equipped with advanced avionics and navigation systems.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations reported that Pakistan successfully conducted a test launch of the extended-range Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile, featuring state-of-the-art avionics and navigation aids. The trial demonstrated the weapon’s ability to strike distant targets with heightened precision and lethality, while also confirming enhancements to various subsystems for better accuracy and survivability.

Senior officers from the Pakistan Army, together with the missile’s developers, witnessed the launch. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with all service chiefs, commended the milestone. The test builds on earlier successful firings of the original Fatah-IV and the Fateh-II system, as well as a recent anti-ship ballistic missile launch by the Pakistan Navy. These developments underscore Pakistan’s ongoing push to advance its indigenous missile capabilities.
