Pakistani forces eliminate eight India-linked militants in Balochistan raids
Security units reported killing eight militants they described as India-backed during three intelligence-driven operations in Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts of Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, three coordinated intelligence-based operations on Oct 17 targeted individuals labeled as “India-sponsored” terrorists in Balochistan’s Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts. In Quetta’s Panjpai area, a planned roadblock was thwarted, leading to the death of five militants. A sanitisation sweep in Nushki uncovered a hideout where two militants were killed after an intense exchange of fire, and weapons were seized.
In Khuzdar, security forces engaged another hideout, killing one militant and recovering 490 kilograms of explosives along with additional arms. The statement linked the groups to the Indian-backed network Fitna al Hindustan and affirmed that the nationwide counter-terrorism drive under Vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ will continue at full speed.
Why it matters
The killings highlight ongoing cross-border terrorism claims and Pakistan's intensified security operations in a volatile region.
