Pakistani jets bomb Kalat district amid escalating Balochistan air attacks

Pakistani military aircraft struck two sites in Kalat on Monday, a day after a drone hit a vehicle in Manguchar, with no confirmed casualty figures.

On Monday, Pakistani military jets carried out airstrikes at two points in Kalat, with witnesses reporting a powerful explosion in the Chappar area and another blast near Took and Dasht-e-Goran. The attacks followed a drone strike on a vehicle in Manguchar the day before, and gunship helicopters that shelled Rudeenjo and nearby locations for several hours. Additional quadcopter attacks were reported from parts of the district.

Ongoing communication disruptions and movement restrictions have made independent confirmation of casualties or damage difficult. The incidents form part of a recent wave of aerial operations across Balochistan that have sparked allegations of civilian casualties. No immediate casualty numbers were released.

Why it matters

The strikes highlight rising military activity in Balochistan and the difficulty of verifying civilian impact.
