Pakistani security forces eliminate 11 alleged Indian-backed militants in Balochistan
Security forces in Balochistan killed 11 militants and seized 2.9 tonnes of explosives during intelligence-led raids in Kharan and Washuk districts.
Intelligence-based operations conducted on September 6 in Kharan and September 7 in Washuk districts of Balochistan led to the killing of 11 militants alleged to be backed by India and the seizure of 2.9 tonnes of explosives intended for improvised devices. The security forces engaged the suspects after they attempted to set up a roadblock and disrupt local traffic, resulting in eight deaths in Kharan and three in Washuk following a fierce exchange of fire.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that the operations were part of a broader effort to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism under the Azm-i-Istehkam initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the troops' professionalism and reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicating such threats. Ongoing sanitisation sweeps are being carried out to locate any remaining militants in the area.
