Pakistan’s chief of defence reaffirms commitment to deepen military ties with Indonesia

Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Indonesian naval chief Admiral Muhammad Ali, during which Munir reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to deepen defence cooperation with Jakarta. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the dialogue covered shared concerns, evolving regional security dynamics and opportunities for expanded professional training, joint exercises and other collaborative projects.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with current military-to-military relations and pledged to reinforce them further. The meeting echoed earlier discussions in Rawalpindi when Indonesia’s defence minister sought broader ties, and it coincided with a separate visit by Lebanon’s interior minister Ahmad Al Hajjar, who also praised Pakistan’s contributions to regional stability. The statements underscored the “longstanding and brotherly” nature of the partnership and the intent to enhance institutional linkages across security institutions.
