Palestinian bus inspector attacked twice by Haredi passengers on Jerusalem route
Shadi Kara'in, a Palestinian ticket inspector from East Jerusalem, was assaulted on two separate occasions while checking tickets on a bus serving the Givat Ze'ev-Jerusalem line.
The inspector, Shadi Kara'in, suffered a broken arm and eye injuries after being attacked by religious Jewish passengers. Both incidents occurred on the same bus route that connects the settlement of Givat Ze'ev with Jerusalem. He required surgery for his left eye and a cast for his arm. Kara'in says the repeated assaults reflect a growing sense of hostility toward him and other Arab workers on the line.
