Palestinian Foreign Ministry applauds New Delhi Declaration supporting two-state solution at BRICS summit

At the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, member states adopted a declaration that the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said it welcomed on September 12. The declaration reiterates backing for the Palestinian cause, explicitly rejecting any forced removal of Palestinians from their lands, including Jerusalem, and calls for an end to the Israeli occupation. It endorses a two-state solution, full United Nations membership for Palestine, and the creation of an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.

The ministry also highlighted support for UNRWA, the protection of holy sites, and the need for continuous humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. It urged the global community to fulfill legal and political responsibilities by enforcing relevant UN resolutions and halting settlement expansion, annexation, and other violations. The statement emphasizes that realising the declaration’s commitments requires ending the occupation and guaranteeing Palestinian self-determination.
