Palm Beach Airport Renamed for Trump Incurred $5.5 Million Cost
Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport was officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, a change that cost an estimated $5.5 million.
On July 9, Palm Beach International Airport in Florida was redesignated as President Donald J. Trump International Airport, becoming the first active U.S. president to have an airport named after him. The airport’s IATA identifier was updated from PBI to DJT after the signage went up. The Palm Beach County Department of Airports estimates the total cost at about $5.5 million, with $2.75 million supplied by state funding and the remainder to be sourced elsewhere.
In a Truth Social post, Trump described the rename as a “Great Honor” and predicted the facility would become one of the world’s most spectacular airports. Airport officials acknowledged varied passenger responses but affirmed their commitment to a safe and reliable travel experience. The rename follows other airport projects linked to Trump, including a $22.5 billion renovation plan for Washington Dulles International Airport announced later in July.
