Palm Beach's historic 'Ham and Cheese House' listed for $105 million after restoration

Casa Eleda, the 1928 Italian Romanesque mansion in Palm Beach’s Estate Section, was designed by Swiss architect Maurice Fatio for banker Mortimer Schiff and his wife Adele. The property, nicknamed the 'Ham and Cheese House' for its red-brick and coral-stone façade, features a private tunnel under South Ocean Boulevard that leads to an oceanfront cabana. In 2013, former Xerox executive Marion H Antonini and his wife Penny bought the home for $15.975 million and embarked on a multi-year restoration that retained original coffered ceilings, marble fireplaces, and other historic elements, while adding a Venice-inspired pool.

Their work received a preservation award in 2017. Following Antonini’s death in 2021, the estate is now listed for $105 million, a price reflecting its size, beachfront location, and restored architectural grandeur.
