PAN pushes for zero-percent election thresholds amid coalition tensions

At the official home of National Mandate Party (PAN) chair Zulkifli Hasan in Widya Chandra, South Jakarta, party officials discussed ongoing revisions to Indonesia's General Election Law. Hasan instructed senior members to continue scrutinizing the proposals, particularly the rules governing parliamentary and presidential thresholds. The Constitutional Court has previously ruled the 4 percent parliamentary threshold invalid and set the presidential nomination threshold at zero percent.

PAN is now advocating for a zero-percent parliamentary threshold as well, arguing the court's decision removes the existing barrier. The outcome will determine which parties can enter the House of Representatives and influence coalition formations ahead of the 2029 General Election.
