Pandora launches massive renewable-powered jewellery factory in Vietnam

Pandora has opened a new manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City that will run entirely on renewable electricity and employ up to 7,000 workers.

Pandora announced a $150 million investment in a new factory in Ho Chi Minh City, describing it as the largest fine jewellery production site globally. The plant, its fourth worldwide and first outside Thailand, is designed to run solely on renewable electricity and will eventually employ 7,000 people. Production capacity is set to reach 60 million items per year, expanding the company’s output by roughly half.

Pandora switched to 100 percent recycled gold and silver for all its jewellery in 2024 and plans to extend renewable energy use to its supply chain. CEO Berta de Pablos-Barbier said the expansion will allow the brand to craft its full collections sustainably while meeting growing market demand.

Why it matters

The new plant boosts Pandora’s output while pursuing greener, recycled-metal production, signaling a shift toward sustainable manufacturing in the jewellery sector.
