Parents Gather Outside Milan Questura Await News on Detained Youth After City Riots

Families are waiting outside the Questura in Milan for information on their children who were detained following the second wave of unrest in the city centre.

In the aftermath of the second wave of rioting in Milan's centre, police detained a large group of youths and placed them in the Questura's holding area. Around thirty detainees reported cramped conditions, scarce blankets, and provision of meals and water. Outside, on Via Fatebenefratelli, mothers and fathers from various towns—including Como, Mezzano, and Sesto—wait anxiously for updates on their children, many of whom were unknown to them at the time of the arrests.

Some parents learned of their child's presence only through phone calls or location tracking. Authorities have told families that each detainee will be released as their administrative procedures are completed.
