Paris Court Tries Three Men Over Violent 2023 Home-Jacking of Goalkeeper Donnarumma
The trial began on Thursday at the tribunal correctionnel de Paris, charging the men with robbery, kidnapping and criminal association. The July 2023 break-in involved masked intruders who entered the ninth-floor apartment via the roof, assaulted Donnarumma and his pregnant partner Alessia Elefante, and stole valuables worth nearly one million euros. Earlier, two teenage accomplices were sentenced, a decision now under appeal. Kherbouch, who escaped from Villepinte prison in March 2026, is alleged to have coordinated the crime from his cell.
A Paris criminal court started hearing the case of three adults accused of orchestrating the July 2023 home-jacking of footballer Gianluigi Donnarumma and his companion Alessia Elefante. The defendants, identified as Ilyas Kherbouch (known as “Ganito”) and Khyan Mamouni (known as “Kiki”), both 21, are alleged to have directed the assault from prison cells, with a third individual acting as the on-site executor. The intruders entered the ninth-floor flat via the roof, threatened the couple with a knife, assaulted Donnarumma with coated gloves, and strangled Elefante with a phone charger, later looting cash, jewelry, watches, luxury bags, a phone and car keys valued at just under one million euros.
A prior juvenile trial sentenced two teenage participants to three and four years, a verdict now appealed by prosecutors. Kherbouch, who had fled the Villepinte detention centre in March 2026 with assistance from impostors posing as police, was recaptured two weeks later. The defense maintains the accused’s innocence and argues the case is not ready for trial.
