Paris Croissant appoints ex-Samsung executive Kang Shin-bong as new CEO
Paris Croissant announced that former Samsung Electronics executive Kang Shin-bong will become its chief executive to drive customer-focused innovation.
Paris Croissant, the operator of the Paris Baguette bakery chain, revealed that Kang Shin-bong will take over as chief executive. Kang’s résumé includes strategy work at Boston Consulting Group, leadership of eBay’s Asia-Pacific cross-border trade, a stint as CEO of Delivery Hero Korea and Yogiyo, and most recently an executive vice-presidency at Samsung’s direct-to-consumer unit. The board hopes his experience in consumer-facing and platform businesses will accelerate customer-centric innovation and improve market competitiveness.
He will also lead a restructuring effort and explore new growth avenues to secure the firm’s future. The appointment will be finalized once the board of directors gives its approval.
