Paris imposes extensive traffic and security limits for Pope's upcoming visit

In preparation for the Pope's visit, the Paris police prefecture will establish limited-size protection perimeters at all public venues, including the outdoor Mass at Place de la Concorde, the evening prayer at the Stade de France, and the procession near Notre-Dame. Access to these zones will be granted only with a valid justification, while parking and traffic will be prohibited in specified red, green and yellow zones.

Several metro stations—such as Argentine, Charles-de-Gaulle Étoile, George V, Kléber, Iéna, Alma-Marceau, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Champs-Élysées Clémenceau and Concorde—will be closed, as will stations along the Pope's route on the Île de la Cité and near the Stade de France. River traffic on the Seine will also be halted during the vigil. These restrictions are intended to ensure safety and manage the large crowds expected for the papal events.
