Paris prosecutors launch multiple probes into covert filming by smart glasses

The Paris prosecutor's office disclosed that it has initiated a series of investigations after receiving complaints about women being filmed without their consent by owners of connected glasses. The investigations target alleged breaches of private life associated with the use of these wearable cameras. e-Enfance, an organization that operates the national 3018 hotline for digital-violence victims, had earlier highlighted a growing trend of humiliating recordings made with such devices and shared online.

The prosecutor emphasized that the inquiries focus on the privacy infringements tied to the technology. No arrests have been reported so far, and the cases remain under investigation.
