Parliament convenes Monday with Magyar Péter's opening remarks and key legislative debates

The Hungarian Parliament began its autumn session on Monday, opened by Magyar Péter, followed by the prime minister's speech and a series of legislative discussions.

The Országgyűlés opened its autumn plenary on Monday with a pre-agenda speech by Magyar Péter, signaling the start of the legislative week. The prime minister delivered his address, after which the chamber entered a hour of interpellations and immediate questions and answers. Subsequent agenda items include committee reports and debates on amendment proposals.

Central to the session is a bill seeking comprehensive investigation of the previous regime's secret-service operations and public access to the State Security Services Historical Archive, which also proposes rules on releasing agents' files. Additional items cover revisions to several justice-related statutes, changes affecting the Constitutional Court's functioning, and updates to the vocational training law. The Justice Committee will also evaluate the nominations of new constitutional court judges.
