Parliamentary committee backs hearings of Fidesz and KDNP nominees for media council
A special committee approved the hearing of Siklósi Beatrix and Boór-Gőblyös István as candidates of Fidesz and KDNP for the Media Council, with the cultural committee set to conduct the hearings.
The parliamentary ad hoc committee responsible for selecting members of the National Media and Telecommunications Authority (NMHH) endorsed the upcoming hearings of Siklósi Beatrix, a TV and radio specialist nominated by Fidesz, and Boór-Gőblyös István, a former senior official of Magyar Rádió nominated by KDNP. These hearings will be carried out by the cultural committee on the same day. Earlier in September, the parliament elected Polyák Gábor to a five-year term as president of the NMHH Media Council and approved several new council members, including Bencsik Márta, Bodrogi Bea, and Nagy Krisztina. The Mi Hazánk nominee Tóth Máté initially received parliamentary backing but resigned due to a conflict of interest, and Radetzky András, a university lecturer and former radio manager, was appointed in his place.
