Parliamentary Committee Nominates Gábor Polyák for Media Council Presidency
The parliamentary specialist committee put forward lawyer and communications expert Gábor Polyák as a candidate for president of the Media Council.
Eleven applicants presented their qualifications at a public hearing last week. Lawmakers voted only for those also endorsed by delegations of professional bodies. Four candidates - Ervin Kajzinger, Gábor Polyák, Zoltán Schönleber and Csaba Tóth - received such backing. The committee’s personal recommendation will be submitted to the cultural committee, which will hear Polyák in person on Monday.
