Parolee Jesus Acosta linked to two fatal shootings in NYC robberies within 48 hours

New York City detectives are searching for 31-year-old parolee Jesus Acosta, who is suspected of committing two lethal robberies within a 48-hour span. Acosta, who was released on parole in April following a ten-year prison term for a 2015 Harlem-area subway shooting, allegedly opened fire at America’s Best Wings and Pizza in Brownsville around midnight, killing 44-year-old employee MD Yusuf (identified as a hardworking family provider) and wounding a 39-year-old man.

Two days later, he entered a deli on East 149th Street in the Bronx, shooting a 33-year-old male customer in the chest; the victim later succumbed to his injuries at Lincoln Medical Center. Police have not confirmed the amount of cash taken from either location, and Acosta is described as a light-skinned male about 5-foot-11, 175 lb, with distinctive tattoos.
