Partner of architect Josep Juanpere detained in Madrid over his mysterious death

Mossos d'Esquadra officials reported that the partner of architect Josep Juanpere was taken into custody in Madrid on suspicion of involvement in his death in Baqueira. Juanpere, who was on holiday in the Val d'Aran area, died suddenly and was first described as having suffered a heart attack, though authorities have reopened the case to address unanswered questions. After failing to find him at his residence, a family member found his body, and his partner was present at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted under secrecy orders. Juanpere's funeral, held in Barcelona, was attended by several notable Catalan entrepreneurs, many of whom were clients of his architectural firm.
