Party boat hits pylon on Gold Coast, six taken to hospital

A party boat collided with a pylon at Moondarewa Spit on the Gold Coast, leaving six passengers with injuries that required hospital transport.

Around 7 p.m. at Moondarewa Spit on the Gold Coast, a party boat carrying 21 passengers crashed into a pylon near Main Beach. Emergency crews assessed eight people on the scene, and six were transported to medical facilities for care. A man in his 20s suffered facial injuries, while a woman of the same age sustained a head injury; both were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Additional victims—a man in his 30s with a neck injury and two women in their 20s with shoulder, neck, or arm injuries—were taken to either Gold Coast University Hospital or Gold Coast Robina Hospital. All patients were reported to be in stable condition, and police described the injuries as minor, such as nosebleeds and concussions. No other passengers were harmed.
