Patmos CEO warns that AI centralization could spawn fake humans and technocratic control

During a televised interview, Patmos CEO John Johnson warned that the United States faces a threat not from foreign rivals but from the concentration of AI capabilities within a small group of tech giants. He argued that building decentralized AI infrastructure across the country would both keep the nation competitive with China and allow more communities to reap economic benefits. Johnson emphasized that AI's capacity to produce convincing human imitations could be exploited by technocrats aiming to dominate society.

He called for swift construction of local AI facilities, shifting influence from the traditional Silicon Valley hub to places such as the "Silicon Prairie." Johnson concluded that Americans must resist any future where people are compelled to submit to increasingly powerful machines.
