Patriots tight end Eli Raridon and wife mourn newborn son

Eli Raridon and his wife Anna announced that their newborn son, Peter James, died shortly after birth due to anencephaly.

Eli Raridon, a tight end for the New England Patriots, and his wife Anna revealed on social media that their son, Peter James Raridon, passed away soon after being born on September 11. An Instagram caption explained that a 20-week anatomy scan had identified anencephaly, a condition where essential parts of the brain and skull are missing and which is invariably fatal. The couple described their profound sorrow at not being able to bring him home, yet also conveyed gratitude for the love they experienced during his brief existence.

They recalled their marriage in May 2025 and the earlier announcement of their pregnancy. Eli was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 2026 draft after playing at Notre Dame.
