Peacock Begins Beta Trial of Membership Rewards Offering Discounts and Free Pizza

Peacock is testing a new rewards program for a select group of Premium and Premium Plus subscribers, featuring merchandise discounts and complimentary pizza.

Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, has launched a beta test of a membership rewards program aimed at retaining its paying audience. The trial is limited to a randomly selected pool of Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers, who are divided into Gold (3 months-1 year), Platinum (1-3 years) and Diamond (over 3 years) tiers. Initial benefits include a 25% discount on NBCU Shop items, tier-based discounts on Bravo Shop merchandise, a complimentary one-year Instacart+ subscription with free grocery delivery on qualifying orders, and a digital Pizza Hut code that offers a free medium pizza with the purchase of another.

NBCUniversal plans to add further incentives over time, such as Universal Parks perks, content previews and early entry to live events. The program reflects a broader industry trend toward loyalty schemes, echoing Disney+ Perks and other streamer initiatives. Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, described the effort as a shift from pure streaming to a broader entertainment membership model.

Why it matters

The program seeks to boost subscriber retention by adding tangible perks, signaling a shift toward loyalty-driven streaming services.
