Pedestrian fatality on 210 Freeway sparks early-morning traffic gridlock
A pedestrian was killed on the westbound 210 Freeway near Citrus Avenue in Azusa early Wednesday, prompting a SigAlert and severe congestion during the morning commute.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m., leading authorities to close the westbound lanes and issue a SigAlert. The carpool lane reopened around 4:41 a.m., but the remaining lanes stayed shut while investigators processed the scene. By about 6:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol announced that all lanes were cleared and traffic resumed. The victim's identity and the circumstances of the incident have not yet been released.
