Penang Chief Minister heads US trade mission to court new investors
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is leading a delegation to the United States from today until Oct 5 to deepen ties with American firms and attract fresh investment.
From today through Oct 5, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow will travel to the United States leading a trade and investment delegation arranged by the state’s agency InvestPenang. The agenda includes briefings on Penang’s new initiatives, notably the Penang Silicon Design @5km+ hub and the Advanced Technology and Engineering (ATE) Campus, as well as recent infrastructure upgrades and policy reforms. Participants will meet with senior executives at the corporate headquarters of American firms that already have a presence in Penang, seeking to reinforce existing partnerships.
The mission also aims to promote the state’s capabilities in semiconductor design, advanced packaging, equipment manufacturing, medical device production, and global business services. By raising Penang’s profile among U.S. investors, officials hope to secure additional capital and jobs for the region.
