Perak Development Corp launches digital media program for primary pupils in Ipoh
The Perak State Development Corp is rolling out its StratCom Jr. programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan St. Michael to teach primary students digital communication and media production skills.
The Perak State Development Corp (PKNPk) is expanding its StratCom Jr. programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan St. Michael in Ipoh, aiming to boost digital communication, critical thinking and media production among primary school children. Launched in 2024, the effort combines classroom instruction with advisory support from PKNPk staff. CEO Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak stressed that exposing students to media skills early builds a foundation for responsible technology use.
To enhance practical learning, PKNPk supplied an iPhone 15 and a set of media accessories for the school’s media team. The initiative reflects PKNPk’s broader view that state development includes nurturing talent and people-centric projects, not just economic growth.
Why it matters
Equipping young students with digital media skills prepares them for a technology-driven future and promotes responsible online behavior.
