PET warns of rising Russian espionage and sabotage risk in Denmark

The Police Intelligence Service (PET) issued a warning that a heightened Russian hybrid campaign could lead to greater Russian espionage, influence activities and sabotage in Denmark. PET's assessment follows a new threat evaluation by the Defence Intelligence Service, which notes an increased Russian willingness to take risks and concrete sabotage planning. The agency highlighted that potential attacks would likely focus on the defence industry and other critical infrastructure supporting Ukraine's military aid.

PET did not specify exact counter-measures but said it is working with police on necessary security steps. Dansk Industri’s under-director for societal safety, Rasmus Anderskouv, said hybrid attacks on Danish companies have become a new normal and urged stronger collaboration between the public sector and businesses.
