Peugeot unveils E-T16 electric concept hitting 300 km/h in 16 seconds

Peugeot displayed the electric E-T16 concept at the Paris Motor Show, claiming a 0-300 km/h sprint in 16 seconds with 816 hp.

Stellantis introduced the Peugeot E-T16 electric concept at the Paris Motor Show, honoring the 205 T17 rally car that won world titles in 1985 and 1986. Developed by Peugeot Sport, the vehicle employs three electric motors—one at the front and two at the rear—to generate a combined 816 horsepower and achieve a weight-to-power ratio below 2 kg per hp. Performance claims include 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 16 seconds, making it the fastest Peugeot in history and positioning it against the 208 T16 Pikes Peak prototype shown three years earlier.

Inside, the next-generation i-Cockpit Digital integrates a Hypersquare steer-by-wire system, while the exterior features large air intakes, a dual-blade diffuser and a sizable rear wing. The car uses Michelin tires (275 mm front, 315 mm rear), four 380 mm brake discs, and a rally-style hand-brake, and incorporates a side-cooling system to manage battery temperature during extreme output.

Why it matters

Demonstrates that electric power can deliver rally-level performance, shaping the future of high-performance EVs.
