PH leaders say only an electoral pact, not a new coalition, is feasible for Melaka polls

Amirudin stated that the window to create a new coalition ahead of the Melaka state election has closed, but a political understanding remains possible. He described the prospective PH Plus arrangement as more of an electoral pact than a formal coalition and said he needs additional information before bringing the issue to the national PH leadership. Approval will depend on whether the arrangement satisfies PH’s present requirements.

Meanwhile, state PH chairman Adly Zahari said the Melaka chapter is finalising talks with parties sharing similar goals, such as Bersatu, which left the PH coalition in 2020. He added that discussions with Barisan Nasional, a key federal ally, have yet to begin.
