PH Presidential Council reaffirms rule of law and anti-corruption stance

The Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council met in Putrajaya and issued a statement asserting that no individual is exempt from legal accountability and that convicted persons must serve their sentences according to the Federal Constitution. The council voiced firm support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s position as well as the advice given by the Attorney-General and the Federal Territories Minister to the Pardons Board.

It reiterated the principle of equality before the law and its commitment to fighting corruption and advancing the Reformasi agenda. The meeting took place shortly after a conditional pardon allowed former prime minister Najib Razak to serve the remainder of his term under house arrest, a decision that has sparked debate within UMNO.
