Philadelphia man arrested in New Jersey sting for attempting child sex transaction
A 27-year-old Philadelphia resident was arrested after an undercover operation in New Jersey uncovered a plan to pay $200 for sexual contact with two minors.
Prosecutors say Nazim X. Torres, a 27-year-old from Philadelphia, reached out on a mobile dating app on July 14 to an undercover officer using the alias “ChillVibeMan.” After moving the dialogue to a different texting service, Torres allegedly disclosed a fetish for children, claimed to view child sexual-abuse material, and offered $200 to engage in sexual activity with two minors. He arranged to meet the undercover officer at a hotel in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, on Aug. 12, but New Jersey State Police arrested him shortly after his arrival.
He now faces a series of charges related to human trafficking and sexual assault, including two counts of second-degree attempted aggravated assault. New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport emphasized that the case demonstrates the state’s use of all available tools to combat child exploitation. Torres’ attorney did not respond to requests for comment.
