Philippine Army to create Territorial Defense Brigade after BARMM troop pullout
The 67th Infantry Battalion of the 10th Infantry Division has completed its return from the Bangsamoro region, clearing the way for a new Territorial Defense Operations Brigade slated for 2027.
All four battalions of the 10th Infantry Division that were sent to secure the September 14 Bangsamoro parliamentary elections are now back at their home base in Cagayan de Oro. Maj. Ruben Gadut confirmed that the arrival of the 67th Infantry Battalion marks the final stage of the recall from Western Mindanao. With the deployment concluded, the army will shift focus to establishing a dedicated Territorial Defense Operations Brigade, targeted for formation by 2027. The move reflects a broader shift toward territorial defense priorities.
