Philippine Coast Guard flies over Palawan waters to locate eight missing June Aster passengers

On Tuesday, the Coast Guard deployed aircraft to scan the sea off Palawan, extending to Bantac Island, as part of the ongoing search for the eight missing people from the June Aster blaze. The vessel, owned by Atienza Interisland Ferries Inc., sank near Coron town after a fire gutted it. The operator is coordinating with its hired salvager, C.V. Gaspar Salvage and Lighterage Corp., to speed up the recovery of the wreck. PCG spokesperson Noemie Cayabyab confirmed the aerial effort continues.
