Philippine high-net-worth entrepreneurs place strong confidence in AI for investment decisions
A recent HSBC survey finds that 83% of wealthy Filipino entrepreneurs trust AI to manage investments, with many also seeing AI boosting future hiring.
HSBC’s Global Entrepreneurial Wealth report surveyed 3,085 high-net-worth individuals worldwide, including a sizable cohort from the Philippines. Among Filipino entrepreneurs, 83% expressed trust in AI for investment management, split between 48% who have a "fair amount" of trust and 34% who have a "great deal". The study notes that while AI is welcomed as an aid, investors still desire human professionals to interpret broader contexts and personal circumstances.
Acceptance drops for fully automated discretionary decisions, especially among the ultra-wealthy. Nearly half of the respondents anticipate that AI will lead to hiring growth over the next two years, while only 16% foresee reductions. Competitive advantage drives AI adoption for 50% of Philippine entrepreneurs, outpacing the global figure of 33%. Optimism about business prospects remains high, with 94% expressing a positive outlook, though the share describing themselves as "very positive" fell from 62% in 2025 to 51%.
