Philippine interior minister says Harry Roque's Dutch asylum bid rejected

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced that former spokesperson Harry Roque's request for asylum in the Netherlands was denied and that authorities will seek an Interpol red notice.

Jonvic Remulla, the secretary of the Interior and Local Government, confirmed that Harry Roque's asylum application to the Netherlands was turned down after five months. He added that the government plans to request a red notice from Interpol to facilitate Roque's return. Roque, who disclosed his asylum filing in November 2025, faces charges of qualified human trafficking linked to the POGO Lucky South 99. The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission has already asked Interpol for the red notice.
