Philippines and Japan launch joint naval drill on security and disaster response in Subic
The Philippine Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force opened a week-long joint exercise in Subic, focusing on maritime security and disaster relief.
The activity, part of the ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Maritime Security, brings together naval units from the Philippines, Japan and other Southeast Asian partners. It includes the Joint Cooperative Activity and the Future Leaders’ Program, aimed at enhancing cooperation at sea. The drills run through the end of September and cover coordinated responses to maritime threats and natural disasters.
